It’s very new and still ongoing (one book completed), but you might check out Widdershins & the Eyes of Caduceus. It’s a “slice-of-life political thriller” set in 2006 about the early stages of the fall of the Statute of Secrecy in the face of the information age, following a largely original cast. The entire story is about micro-perspectives in a macro geopolitical event.
